Starting post...

My best friend Gary and I were married July 8th, 1995...can't believe it's been almost 13 1/2 years since we became husband and wife. Nearly eight years later, on May 15, 2003, we welcomed our miracle baby...Alayna Michelle, into our family. We are trying for another child now, but at this time, she is our everything and we are very proud and blessed to have her in our lives. We hope to soon give her a little brother or sister. At the risk of sharing too much, I have pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome), and am currently getting fertility treatment for it. I only share this because I will be (very limited) talking about my dr visits from time to time, and wanted to give you a little background.

We are a happy family, and for the most part, a busy one. Alayna just started kindergarten this school year. She seems to love it a lot, it's actually mommy that has the achy heart ;). Her teacher is great, and alayna loves her as well...but I have a difficult time letting my baby get through her own stuff at school. For example: I went to visit her for lunch the other day, and saw another classmate push her...well of course she cried. The teacher didn't see, but went to see about her after I told her she was crying. Well, Alayna didn't tell her exactly what happened...and let's just say, it was all I could do to NOT get involved, and go.."she did it! that's the little girl that pushed my baby!...". Gotta let her fight her own battles...it's so hard to be a mom sometimes!

On to the hubby...Gary works for the post office, in the maintenance department. He works on the machines that the mail runs through. He seems to like it, but it does make his knees hurt sometimes. It's good pay, and good hours....although, he does have to go to school for training some times. That's the hardest part...the being apart. But he always manages to find his way home, thank goodness ;)

He is literally my life saver on this earth...he has been there for me through everything...all the highs and lows. Even after being treated badly (for no good reason) by people on his side of the family and my own...he's there for me. I trust him with everything that I am, and he trusts me as well...and together, we trust in the Lord...that's what we believe makes our marriage so wonderful.

As for myself...I graduated last year from Texas Tech University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I have worked on and off since then (it's hard to get a good job with a terrible work history like mine), and have finally decided that I am going back to school for my post bac teacher certification. My plan is to either get into the Special Education program or the Art program. Either way, I'm looking forward to being able to work with children on a daily basis.

Well, that's the basic part of who our family is and what we are doing with our lives right now. If you would like to keep up with us, you are more than welcome to join us for the ride ;)
